How to present a car

This guide is for the United Kingdom. It uses area, postcode and square metres.

Overview

Presenting a car starts with a conversation. Tell the desk what you have, and the desk arranges the photographs, documents and inspection before the car is offered privately.

Before You Start

You'll need:

  • Your property address
  • Property type (house, flat, maisonette, etc.)
  • Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
  • At least 4 photos of your property
  • A brief description (optional but recommended)

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Sign In or Create Account

  1. Go to offr.bid
  2. Click "Sign In" in the top right
  3. If you're new, click "Sign Up" and create your account
  4. Verify your email address

Step 2: Start Your Listing

  1. Sign in, then open your owner dashboard and choose New listing
  2. Or sign in through this link, which takes you straight to the listing form: /sign-in?next=/dashboard/owner/listings/new

Step 3: Enter Property Details

Fill in the following information:

Basic Information:

  • Title: A clear title for your property (e.g., "Modern 3-Bedroom Terrace in Didsbury, Manchester")
  • Address: Full street address
  • Area: The area where your property is located (e.g., Didsbury)
  • Town or city: Your town or city (e.g., Manchester or London)
  • Postcode: Your postcode (e.g., M20 2RQ)

Property Details:

  • Property Type: Select from house, flat, maisonette, bungalow, land, etc.
  • Bedrooms: Number of bedrooms
  • Bathrooms: Number of bathrooms
  • Floor Area: Floor area in square metres (if known)

Step 4: Upload Photos

Upload at least 4 photos of your property:

Tips for Great Photos:

  • Take photos in daylight
  • Include the front of the property
  • Show the kitchen and main living areas
  • Include bathrooms
  • Show the garden or outdoor area
  • Use landscape orientation (horizontal)

Photo Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 photos
  • Maximum 50 photos
  • Each photo must be under 10MB
  • Accepted formats: JPG, PNG

Using Your Phone:

  • Click "Take Photo" to use your phone's camera
  • Or click "Upload from Gallery" to select existing photos
  • Photos are automatically compressed for optimal loading

Step 5: Add Description (Optional)

Write a brief description of your property. Include:

  • Key features (renovated kitchen, garden, etc.)
  • Nearby amenities (schools, shops, transport)
  • What makes your property special

Example: "Well-kept terrace in a quiet street. Recently refitted kitchen with stone worktops. Open-plan living opening onto the garden. Close to shops, schools and the tram stop."

Step 6: Review and Submit

  1. Review all your information
  2. Make sure you have at least 4 photos
  3. Click "Submit Listing"

Step 7: Wait for Approval

Your listing will be reviewed by our team within 4 business hours. We check:

  • Address is valid
  • Photos are appropriate
  • Information is complete

You'll receive an email when your listing is approved and goes live.

What Happens Next?

  1. List

    Submit your listing; it goes live after approval.

  2. Proposals

    Verified agents nearby bid within 24–48 hours; compare side-by-side.

  3. Choose

    Accept the best bid.

Once your listing is live:

  1. Agents in your area are notified
  2. You'll start receiving bids within 24-48 hours
  3. Compare bids side-by-side
  4. Message agents with questions
  5. Accept the best bid

Estate agents in the UK do not hold individual licences. Every bidding agent passes our identity and agency checks, and works through an agency with redress in place (the TPO or the PRS).

Tips for Success

Photos:

  • More photos = more interest
  • Bright, clear photos attract more bids
  • Include all key rooms

Description:

  • Be honest and accurate
  • Highlight unique features
  • Mention nearby amenities

Pricing:

  • You don't need to specify an asking price
  • Agents will bid based on market conditions
  • You choose the best offer

Common Issues

"I can't upload my photos"

Solution:

  • Check file size (must be under 10MB)
  • Check file format (JPG or PNG only)
  • Try a different browser
  • Clear your browser cache

"My address isn't recognized"

Solution:

  • Check the spelling
  • Include the full address (street number, street name, area, town or city, postcode)
  • Try without the area name
  • Contact support if the issue persists

"I want to edit my listing"

Solution:

  • Go to your dashboard
  • Click on your listing
  • Click "Edit"
  • Make your changes
  • Click "Save"
  • Changes are reviewed within 4 hours
